Collegeville, PA... One day after head coach
Scott Dicheck earned his 400th win, senior
Mike Stanley (Newtown, PA / Council Rock North) achieved a milestone of his own winning in both doubles and singles to rack up his 100th career victory as part of a 9-0 victory for The College of New Jersey tennis team (12-3) over Ursinus College (10-5) Thursday afternoon. Stanley joins doubles partner
Jack August (Medford, NJ / Home Schooled) who reached the milestone himself earlier this season.
The pair combined to win 8-4 in doubles before Stanley cruised to a straight set 6-0, 6-2 victory to enter the triple digit win club. Stanley was not the only Lion who was impressive on the day. Sophomores
Tim Gavornik (Millington, NJ / Watchung Hills) and
Mitchel Sanders (Randolph, NJ / Randolph) each won their fifth straight singles match.
TCNJÂ did not lose a single set during play today, with no Bear opponent winning more than four games during any individual set. This marks the fifth time this season that the Lions swept singles competition and seventh time this year the team swept doubles competition.
TCNJÂ returns to action Wednesday, April 19 at 3:30 pm when the squad travels to Hoboken to take on Stevens Institute of Technology.
