Game Recap: Lacrosse |

TCNJ rolls to seventh straight

Ewing, NJ… The College of New Jersey lacrosse team raced to a 9-0 lead en route to a 17-1 victory over Ramapo College Thursday night. The game was a make-up for a postponement made earlier in the year. The top-ranked Lions improve to 11-1 and 4-0 in NJAC play, while the Roadrunners slip to 5-8 and are now 0-4 in league play.

Sophomore Kathleen Jaeger (Whitehouse Station, NJ / Hunterdon Central) got the Lions started, scoring her 32nd goal of the season on a free position attempt. TCNJ extended the lead, getting two goals each from Alex Fitzpatrick (Burlington, NJ / Northern Burlington), Allie Gorman (Sicklerville, NJ / Washington Twp.), Amanda Muller (Hillsborough, NJ / Hillsborough), and Mia Blackman (Arlington, VA / Field School).

After a Ramapo goal from Ava Rinaldi, Blackman completed the hat trick tallying her 25th of the season. Kasey Donoghue (Mt. Laurel, NJ / Lenape) then joined in on the scoring, followed by Olivia Cleale (Yardley, PA / Notre Dame (NJ)) netting her first career goal to stake the Lions to a 12-1 halftime lead.

The second half played out much like the first, Cleale scored again to open the half Donoghue scored twice, bracketing a Fitzpatrick goal to complete the hat trick for both players. Jaeger closed out the scoring, completing her ninth multi-goal game of the season. Cleale added a career-high five assists to finish with seven points.

TCNJ out-shot Ramapo 29-6. The Lions grabbed 15 draw controls, while allowing just five for the Roadrunners. TCNJ gave up possession just twice during the game.

Elizabeth Morrison (Stonignton, CT / Stonington) nabbed seven draw controls, caused a turnover, and scooped a ground ball in the winning effort.

Miranda Chrone (Moorestown, NJ / Moorestown) made two saves and lowered her season goals against average to an NCAA best 3.51.

The Lions return to action Tuesday, April 25 at 7:00 PM when they take on Stockton University on senior night at Lions Stadium.
