LOGAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. – It came down to the wire, but The College of New Jersey men's cross country team won the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championship on Saturday. The Lions finished with a score of 40, which edged Rowan University by one point. The title marked the 29th in the program's history.
"Coming in our goal was to make it as close of a meet as possible," said head coach
Justin Lindsey. "Rowan was the favorite and Ramapo has looked good all season, so to pull out the win was exciting! Our pack mentality made this win possible. It was a complete team effort and everyone ran well."
The top finisher for the Lions was freshman
Nick Falk, who placed third with a time of 26:34.
Pelle Nogueira took seventh as he crossed the finish line at 26:57.
Places nine through twelve were all TCNJ.
William Mayhew took ninth with a mark of 27:04, and
Robert Abrams was right behind with a time of 27:10.
Quinn Wasko placed 11
th as he clocked in at 27:13.35, and
Luke Prothero took 12
th with a time of 27:13.82.
Next up will be the Atlantic Regional Championships, which will take place at the same course on Nov. 10.
