Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Furious Comeback Falls Just Short

Mahwah, NJ… Despite a career-high 23 points from Jordan Glover (Trenton, NJ/Lawrence), The College of New Jersey men's basketball team dropped a 64-60 decision to Ramapo College Saturday afternoon. The Roadrunners took a stranglehold on the New Jersey Athletic Conference improving to 13-2 in league play and 17-5 overall. The Lions remained in second place with an 11-4 conference mark and 16-6 overall record.

TCNJ jumped out to a quick 8-4 lead on three pointers from Eric Murdock, Jr. (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater) and Randall Walko (Somerville, NJ/Somerville).  Walko recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

With the Roadrunners holding a 13-2 lead, Ramapo used a 13-4 run to break open the game, opening up a double digit lead. Christopher Moseley sparked the run with three of his team-high 19 points.

Ramapo led 36-28 at the half.

Early in the second half, the Roadrunners pushed the lead as high as 15 at 48-33. The Lions would fire back, using a 17-4 run to close the gap to two as Glover scored six points during the rally. Ramapo would respond thanks to an unlikely hero in Deon Hale. Hale scored his only six points of the game as part of a 9-0 run that pushed the game out of reach.

TCNJ's final comeback attempt was cut short after Glover cut the lead to just three by connecting on a pair of triples with under a minute to go, but Moseley hit one of two at the line with 13 seconds left to ice the game.

The Lions struggled during the game to control the ball committing 21 turnovers to 14 for Ramapo. This led to a 19-14 points off turnover advantage for the Roadrunners.

The Lions will return home to Packer Hall Wednesday, February 7 at 8:00 PM as they look to avenge a conference loss from earlier this season against William Paterson University.
