Ewing, NJ… The College of New Jersey lacrosse team continued their strong start to the beginning of the season defeating Haverford College 16-3 Thursday night. The second ranked Lions improve to 2-0 on the season, while the Fords dropped to 1-1.

The Lions jumped out to an early lead on goals from
Amanda Muller (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough),
Erin Harvey (Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape),
Erin Jaffe (Mahwah, NJ/Mahwah), and
Olivia Cleale (Yardley, PA/Notre Dame (NJ)).

After the Fords responded with a goal of their own, TCNJ again scored four straight with Alex Fitzpatrick (Burlington, NJ/Northern Burlington) scoring twice on the run. Fitzpatrick finished with five goals for the second straight game.

Haverford found the back of the net twice in a row to close the gap to 8-3 at intermission.

The Lions were unstoppable in the second half closing the game on an 8-0 run.
Allie Gorman (Sicklerville, NJ/Washington Twp.) scored twice in the second stanza, Cleale completed her first hat trick of the season, and
Elizabeth Morrison (Stonington, CT/Stonington) found the scoring column for the first time this year.

Miranda Chrone (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) made five saves to earn the victory.

Brroke Lionetti (Malvern, PA/Great Valley) and
Jaclyn Douglas (Malvern, PA/Great Valley) each scooped four ground balls, second only to Morrison, who nabbed five.

During the game Morrison was named to the Tewaaraton Watch List. The initial watch list is comprised of 50 men and 50 women across all three NCAA divisions. The Tewaaraton Award is given annually to the most outstanding men's and women's lacrosse players. Morrison is the only division III women's player to make the 2018 initial watch list.
