Carlisle, PA… The College of New Jersey lacrosse team continued their early season dominance, defeating Dickinson College 15-2 Saturday afternoon. The second ranked Lions improved to 4-0 on the season, while the Red Devils fell to 2-2.
The Lions got on the board early as
Kasey Donoghue (Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape) deposited her first of the season. The Lions extended the lead to 4-0 courtesy of goals by Alex Fitzpatrick (Burlington, NJ/Northern Burlington),
Allie Gorman (Sicklerville, NJ/Washington Twp.), and
Erin Harvey (Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape).
After the Red Devils got on the board, TCNJ responded with another four goal barrage, Gorman completed her hat trick before
Elizabeth Morrison (Stonington, CT/Stonington) and
Olivia Cleale (Yardley, PA/Notre Dame (NJ)) completed the run.
Fitzpatrick scored her 17
th of the season to put the Lions up 9-2 at the half.
TCNJ was even more dominant in the second half, scoring six unanswered goals to produce the final score. Cleale and Fitzpatrick each completed their hat tricks. The pair lead the team with 23 and 19 points respectively.
Harvey had three ground balls to pace the Lions, while Morrison added a team high three draw controls.
Brooke Lionetti (Malvern, PA/Great Valley) was strong on the defensive end, forcing a pair of turnovers.
Miranda Chrone (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) was dominant in goal making nine saves for her fourth win of the season.
The Lions return home to host Wesleyan University Wednesday, March 14 at 1:00 PM.
