Ewing, NJ… The College of New Jersey saw something that they had not seen at any time this season late in the second half Wednesday afternoon, a deficit. 18
th-ranked Wesleyan College overcame a 6-3 halftime deficit and put the second-ranked Lions in unfamiliar territory, storming back to pull off a 7-6 upset. The final score is the only margin TCNJ has trailed by in five games this season falling to 4-1. The Cardinals improved to 4-0.

The Lions got on the board early, just as they had all season. Alex Fitzpatrick (Burlington, NJ/Northern Burlington),
Erin Harvey (Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape),
Kasey Donoghue (Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape), and
Erin Jaffe (Mahwah, NJ/Mahwah) staked TCNJ a 4-0 lead.

The Cardinals closed the gap to 5-3, when
Olivia Cleale (Yardley, PA/Notre Dame (NJ)) found Jaffe to provide the halftime score.

Both defenses were up to the challenge in the first 20 minutes of the second half, as a goal from Wesleyan's Caitlin Wood was the lone score. With just under 10 minutes remaining, Cardinals leading scorer Abby Manning found Kat Cucullo to cut the defecit to one.

The Cardinals would tie the game on a goal from Abigail Horst with 2:46 remaining and take the lead less than a minute later on Wood's third of the game.

Allegra Grant made 15 saves, including nine in the second half to earn the win.

TCNJ out-shot Wesleyan 32-21.

The Lions remain at home for a game against Ursinus College Tuesday, March 20 at 7:00 PM.
