Ewing, NJ… The College of New Jersey tennis team was in control all day, cruising to a 7-2 win over Franklin & Marshall College Sunday afternoon. The Lions improve to 2-0 on the young season, while the Diplomats fell to 0-1.
The Lions swept the doubles competition for a second straight match.
Mitchel Sanders (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) and
Chris D'Agostino (Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery) prevailed in a tight 9-7 set at first doubles. Sanders went on to earn a straight sets win at first singles.
Omar Bokhari (Lake Hiawatha, NJ/Parsippany) and
Tim Gavornik (Millington, NJ/Watchung Hills) earned straight set victories at third and fourth singles respectively.
The Lions return to action Thursday when New York University comes to Ewing for a 4:00 PM start.
