Ewing, NJ... The College of New Jersey tennis team earned their third straight win to start the season, earning an 8-1 win over Goucher College Friday afternoon. The Lions currently sit at 3-0, while the Gophers fall to 8-2.
TCNJ jumped out to a hot start in doubles, sweeping the three matches.
Tim Gavornik (Millington, NJ/Watchung Hills) and
Gokul Murugesan (Edison, NJ/JP Stevens) led the way with an 8-2 win.
In singles competition the Lions found the same form, taking five of six matches, all in straight sets.
Chris D'Agostino (Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery) earned a 6-0, 6-2 victory.
Mitchel Sanders (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) improved to 6-0 in dual matches with a 6-2, 6-2 win.
The Lions return to action March, 24 when they travel to Rider University to take on the Division I Broncs.
