Ewing, NJ… The College of New Jersey lacrosse team handled Rutgers-Camden Tuesday night, defeating the Scarlet Raptors 17-0. The third-ranked Lions improved to 9-2 and 2-0 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference, while Rutgers-Camden dropped to 2-5 an 0-1 in the NJAC. TCNJ is 9-0 all-time against the Scarlet Raptors.
The Lions went up 12-0 in the opening half.
Olivia Cleale (Yardley, PA/Notre Dame (NJ)) led the way with six points on a pair of goals and four assists. Cleale has 28 assists on the season, already the 13
th-most in a year in program history. Just a sophomore, Cleale ranks 17
th in Lions history in career assists with 53.
Fresh off her 100
th point last time out,
Kathleen Jaeger (Whitehouse Station, NJ/Hunterdon Central) scored another two goals and added three assists. Also fresh off a milestone game,
Amanda Muller (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) scored twice and assisted on two other goals in the first half. Muller would add a goal and assist in the second half.
Allie Gorman (Sicklerville, NJ/Washington Twp.) crossed the 20-goal mark for the second straight season with a hat trick.
Erin Harvey (Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape) had a strong showing scoring the game's first goal and finishing with two goals and two assists.
Chloe Pottillo (Woodbury, NJ/Camden Catholic) scored her first goal of the season.
Entering the game as the nation's top scoring defense,
Miranda Chrone (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) and
Alexa Natalicchio (New Egypt, NJ/Notre Dame) combined for the shut-out, the team's second of the year.
Elizabeth Morrison (Stonington, CT/Stonington) set a new career-high with 11 draw controls.
TCNJ travels to Ramapo College Thursday afternoon for a 4:00 PM start.
