Union, NJ… The College of New Jersey lacrosse team wrapped up their eighth straight regular season New Jersey Athletic Conference title, defeating Kean University 19-5 Saturday afternoon. The top-ranked Lions are now 15-2 on the year and finished NJAC play 6-0. The Cougars fell to 14-3 and 3-3 in the NJAC.

A rare instance this season, the Lions fell behind when Krista LaMaina scored her 12
th of the season. The Lions showed their resilience responding with eight straight goals to take control of the game.
Kathleen Jaeger (Whitehouse Station, NJ/Hunterdon Central) scored four of the goals and
Amanda Muller (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) chipped in a goal and two assists. Jaeger finished with five goals and an assist, while Muller ended with three goals and a pair of helpers.

The Cougars would answer closing the gap to 9-5 at halftime.

Whatever Lions coach Sharon Pfluger said at halftime worked as the Lions scored 10 unanswered goals in the second period. Alex Fitzpatrick (Burlington, NJ/Northern Burlington) scored her second of the game and team-leading 42
nd of the season.
Allie Gorman (Sicklerville, NJ/Washington Twp.) notched her 40
th of the year.

Olivia Cleale (Yardley, PA/Notre Dame (NJ)) added a goal and three assists on to her already impressive season.

Elizabeth Morrison (Stonington, CT/Stonington) nabbed eight draw controls to bring her career total to 276. She also added four caused turnovers and three ground balls.

These teams will turn right around and play this game all over again Wednesday night, when they meet in the opening round of the NJAC Tournament in Lions Stadium.
