Montclair, NJ… The College of New Jersey lacrosse team  continued their dominance over conference competition defeating Montclair State University 16-2 Saturday afternoon. The second-ranked Lions are 8-2 overall and 1-0 in New Jersey Athletic Conference play. The Red Hawks are 5-5 and 0-1 in conference play.

The Lions got on the board early with goals from
Kathleen Jaeger (Whitehouse Station, NJ/Hunterdon Central) and
Amanda Muller (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough). The goal by Muller was the 100th goal of her collegiate career.

After the Red Hawks cut the deficit in half, TCNJ scored eight straight goals to close out the half. Alex Fitzpatrick (Burlington, NJ/Northern Burlington),
Kasey Donoghue (Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape), and
Allie Gorman (Sicklerville, NJ/Washington Twp.) each scored free position goals to start the run. With just under 10 minutes remaining in the first half Jaeger found Gorman to make the score 6-1. The assist was the 100
th point in Jaeger's collegiate career.

Montclair State opened the second half with a goal to cut the lead to 10-2, but TCNJ would score the game's final six goals to produce the final score. Donoghue and Jaeger each scored twice during the run.

Miranda Chrone (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) made six saves in net to earn the win.

TCNJ out-shot Montclair State 40-14.

The Lions will return to action Tuesday, when they host Rutgers-Camden. First draw is at 7:00 PM.
