EWING, N.J. – The College of New Jersey men's tennis team had a solid showing in their first action of the season winning nine of 12 matches in the Lions Doubles Tournament Sunday afternoon. Other teams competing in the tournament were Ottawa University and University of the Sciences.
 
Several freshman saw their first collegiate action, headlined by a pair of wins by Matthew Michibata, Justin Wain, and Nikola Kilibarda. Michbata teamed with Tim Gavornik to defeat the number one duo from both Ottawa and Univ. of the Sciences. Wain and Matt Puig defeated the number two pair from each school. Kilibarda teamed with Omar Bokhari to defeat the number three duo from the Braves before partnering with Sean Reilly to defeat the third pair of the Devils.
 
Mikhael Kadyrkaev and Jacob Kaminsky teamed up for their first collegiate victories over the third pair from Univ. of the Sciences.
 
The Lions next compete in the Fall Kickoff Tournament Saturday, Sept. 22 hosted in the Tennis Complex.
