EWING, N.J. – The College of New Jersey men's tennis team opened its season Saturday afternoon. The Lions won six of the 10 matches they competed in.
 
Matthew Michibata won both of his matches to start the season. He teamed with Justin Wain for an 8-4 win before pairing with Nick Matkiwsky for an 8-1 set. Matkiwsky and Sean Reilly won in round one for the first collegiate win of Matkiwsky's career.
 
Rahul Panoli won his first career match, teaming with Nikola Kilibarda in round one. In round two, Wain and Thomas Wright combined for a win, as well as Adam Yu and Oliver Rodriguez. The win was the first in both of their collegiate careers.
 
The Lions are back in action on Sept. 7 when they host the Lions Fall Tournament at 10 a.m.
