EWING, N.J. – Kristiina Castagnola scored in the final minute of the first overtime period to push No. 12 Rowan to a 1-0 NJAC victory over the No. 11 TCNJ field hockey team on Tuesday at the TCNJ Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex.

Dani Britton made four saves, and
Sophie Popp made a defensive save late in the third period to help the Lions keep the game scoreless. Rowan also had two penalty corners in the final minute of regulation, but
Dani Britton made a save off of the first one to help send the game into overtime.
In the extra period, Castagnola used the extra space in the 7-on-7 format to find room at the offensive end to beat Britton with her 10
th shot of the game. She easily outpaced everyone else on the field with that shot total.
Mia Lanzilotta and
Camryn Ley each had a shot on goal for the Lions in a one-minute sequence in the second period, but both shots were turned away.
Britton's four saves are one shy of her season high, and Popp's defensive save gives her a team-best three on the campaign.
TCNJ stays in NJAC play at Stockton on Saturday at 1 p.m.
