Devitt Named NJAC Player of the Week

PITMAN, N.J. –
Shannon Devitt of the TCNJ women's basketball team was named NJAC Player of the Week, announced by the conference on Monday. This marks the second time that Devitt has been named NJAC Player of the Week this season.

Devitt had a pair of impressive performances in two more wins for the 6-0 Lions. She averaged 20.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, and three steals a game.  She also shot an efficient 16-of-26 (61.5%) from the field.

In the first win over Kean, Devitt posted a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds. She shot 8-of-11 (72.7%) from the floor. In the second victory over the Cougars, Devitt scored 22 points and 11 rebounds. The Westfield, N.J., product also grabbed four steals in game two.

On the season, Devitt is currently ranked second in the NJAC in scoring with 19.3 points per game. She only trails her teammate Julia Setaro, who has a mark of 20.5 points per game. Devitt's 9.2 boards per game rank fourth in the NJAC. She is fourth in all of NCAA Division III in blocked shots with 3.1 per game.

In Friday's win, Devitt surpassed 900 career rebounds. She became only the second player in TCNJ history to reach the 900-career rebound mark. She is 40 boards away from Candy Kaschak's program record of 962.
