EWING, N.J. – Shannon Devitt of the TCNJ women's basketball team was named D3hoops.com Second Team All-Atlantic/Mid-Atlantic Region, as announced by the organization on Wednesday.
Devitt adds another well-deserved accolade to her long list of accomplishments. This season, she concluded her prestigious career with another dominant campaign. She averaged 19 points per game, which ranked second in the NJAC and 10.4 rebounds per game, which led the conference. She was also the conference's leader in blocks per game (3.3) and field goal percentage (55.1%).
This year, Devitt broke TCNJ's all-time rebounding record. Devitt eclipsed Candy Kaschak's record of 962 boards, a mark that has stood since 1984. Devitt finished her career with 971 rebounds.
This past month, Devitt was named NJAC Defensive Player of the Year as well as First Team All-NJAC. Devitt was also among the inductees for the 2021 TCNJ Blue and Gold Hall of Fame. This marks the third consecutive year that Devitt has been named D3hoops.com Second Team All-Region. She also has two NJAC Defensive Player of the Year honors and three First Team All-NJAC honors.
Devitt finished her career with 1,282 points, which ranks sixth all-time in TCNJ history. She also ranks second in blocks in program history with 207. In her sophomore season, Devitt set the TCNJ single-season rebounding record of 329 boards. She tallied 50 career double-doubles, and also averaged a double-double with career marks of 14.2 points and 10.8 rebounds per game.
