No. 6 Field Hockey Dominates Juniata, 7-0

EWING, N.J. – After coming from behind in its season opener to defeat Catholic on Thursday, the No. 6 TCNJ field hockey team left no doubt in its second game of the season. The Lions scored six goals in the first half en route to a 7-0 victory over Juniata on Saturday afternoon at the TCNJ Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex.  Jess Hatch and Kayla Cichlar each had hat tricks before halftime.

The Lions outshot Juniata, 42-1, in the match, and scored on six of their 33 shots in the first half. Hatch opened the scoring on a feed from Rayhanah Ahmed 12:14 into action and Cihlar scored on an assist from Camryn Ley in the final minute of the first period.

In the second, Hatch and Cichlar each scored twice to push the advantage to 6-0. Cichlar added an assist on Hatch's third goal.

The Lions scored once in the second half, netting a goal from Sophie Popp off a penalty corner. Hatch and Kileigh Pfluger registered assists on that tally. TCNJ had 18 penalty corners in the contest to Juniata's one.

Ahmed led the team with 10 shots with six on goal. The Lions had 27 total shots on goal.
