YORK, PA.- The No. 9 TCNJ Wrestling team handled business in its first road trip of the season, defeating No. 14 York College by a score of 31-12. The Lions won seven out of ten bouts and three of those coming by way of pin.
 
Joe Daddario (197) had a big overtime victory in the bout of the night over Camden Farrow, who is currently the third ranked wrestler at 197 lbs. in division 3. After 3 periods of back and forth action with each wrestler earning escape points, Daddario was able to come up with the quick takedown right at the start of the overtime period.
 
Larry Melchionda (133) got TCNJ on the board in the second bout of the night, using numerous takedowns and riding time to earn himself an 11-7 decision over Wilfred Jimenez.
 
The third-ranked wrestler at 149 lbs. in Division III, Mike Conklin continued to prove his dominance over the weight class with an 11-0 major decision over Bryan Diaz. 
 
Matt Sacco (157) fought back from down 4-1 after the first period with three takedowns in the second period en route to an 8-6 decision over Jared Bair. It was this victory that gained the lead for TCNJ, which the Lions never gave back.
 
Nick Sacco (165) followed his brother's victory with one of his own. Sacco got to work early, pinning Tyler Mangan just one minute and 22 seconds into the match.
 
Quinn Haddad (184) got a first-round pin of his own against Jared Townsend, this one with just three seconds to spare in the first period. So far this season, no opponent has made it the distance when facing the graduate student.
 
Once again to put more icing on another victory cake, Peter Wersinger (285) got the commanding win by way of pin against Sam Rodriguez. Wersinger was the third Lion on the night to secure a first-period pin.
 
TCNJ wrestling will be back on the road this weekend as they get set to face off against Castleton on Friday at the Journeyman Duals starting at 8:30 PM.
