INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – TCNJ men's swimming star
James McChesney put a bow on an unforgettable season by placing third in the 100 free and adding another All-America relay laurel on the final day of the NCAA Championships in Indianapolis.
McChesney finished fifth in the prelims and moved up two spots to grab a bronze medal in the finals session, clocking in at 43.76 seconds to finish just .07 ticks behind Rowan's Kevin Gillooly in second.
When the dust settled on the national meet, TCNJ found itself in 19
th place in the team standings with 56 points.
McChesney also joined
Dixon Kahler,
Matt Watts, and
Andrew Thompson to finish 14
th in the 400 free relay (2:59.80), conveying All-America honorable mention to all four.
McChesney claimed All-America honors in three individual events for the week, placing fourth in the 200 free and 12
th in the 50 free before taking third on Saturday night.
Thompson and McChesney each secured their second All-America relay certificate, adding to a 10
th-place effort in the 800 free relay on Friday night, while Kahler and Watts became All-Americans for the first time.
