EWING, N.J. – The TCNJ lacrosse gets to chase a Final Four berth on its home field.
The Lions are one of four regional hosts for the NCAA Championship and will welcome a trio of teams to the Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex this weekend for third-round and quarterfinal matchups.
TCNJ will take on No. 16 Cortland at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, followed by No. 1 Salisbury and Kenyon at 2:30 p.m. The winners will meet back on the same turf at 1 p.m. Sunday for a spot in the national semifinals.
Seventh-ranked TCNJ (16-2) finds itself in the third round following a 20-12 victory over St. Mary's (Md.) on Sunday, when
Jennifer LaRocca paired five goals with three assists and
Ally Tobler added six goals of her own.
The Lions are hosting a Round of 16 pod for the first time since 2018, which was also the program's last Final Four appearance.
Cortland downed Western Connecticut State, 18-8, in the first round on Saturday before edging No. 25 Roger Williams by a 14-11 count on its home field on Sunday. The Red Dragons have won 16 straight games and have advanced to the third round for the second year in a row.
Salisbury, the reigning national champion, cruised into the third round with a 15-4 victory at Stevens on Sunday. The Sea Gulls are ranked No. 1 in Division III and have won seven consecutive games, including a 15-12 decision at TCNJ on April 23. Salisbury has reached three consecutive Final Fours and back-to-back national championship games.
Kenyon rallied for a thrilling 15-14 victory over Rhodes on Sunday, their first in the NCAA Tournament since 2010. The Ladies, winners of 14 in a row, are making their third NCAA appearance.
