EWING, N.J. – TCNJ's
Kevin Christensen was recently named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Men's Track & Field / Cross Country Team.
As a first-team Academic All-District honoree, Christensen advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America recipients will be announced later this month.
Christensen was one of 11 student-athletes honored from District 2, which includes institutions in the states of Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Delaware, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Vermont, and West Virginia. To be eligible, a student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 and be a starter or significant reserve on his or her team.
A civil engineering major with a 3.72 GPA, Christensen enjoyed a phenomenal year for the Lions' cross country and track and field programs.
During the cross country season, Christensen placed 11
th at the NJAC Championship meet to help TCNJ claim the team title. It was the second all-conference award for Christensen, who finished sixth at the spring 2021 championship meet.
Christensen performed at an All-Region level in the mile and distance medley relay during the indoor track campaign. The junior went on to win the 1500 meters and place runner-up in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the NJAC Outdoor Championship. He was a national qualifier in the steeplechase and wound up placing 14
th overall at the NCAA Championship in Geneva, Ohio.
