EWING, N.J. – A fourth-quarter rally from the No. 18 TCNJ Field Hockey team fell just shy against No. 19 Ursinus, as the team lost 2-1 at the Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex Wednesday afternoon.
Despite the Lions (3-3) finishing the game with an 8-to-5 edge in shots and a 9-to-2 advantage in penalty corners over the Bears (4-2), the blue and gold simply couldn't overcome a pair of goals dropped in by the road team.
HOW IT HAPPENED
	- After consecutive quality TCNJ shot attempts were stopped by goalie Adriana Palladinetti, the Bears struck first just 2:11 into the second period when Ellie Bruggeman found Mary Lauren Franz for the score.
- Eight minutes later, Rayhanah Ahmed nearly notched the equalizer on a Lions penalty quarter, but her shot was stopped on an excellent kicking save from Ursinus' Palladinetti to keep the Blue and Gold off the board entering halftime.
- Ursinus scored a crucial insurance goal 9:37 into the third quarter after a brilliant Bears pass in transition found Lauren Franz for her second goal of the game.
- TCNJ's offense found life 3:38 into the final period when a foul well within the shooting circle by Ursinus set up a penalty stroke for sophomore Emily Dvorsky, who swiftly found the back left corner of the cage to cut the Lions' deficit in half.  
- With less than five minutes remaining in the game, a shot attempt from Claire Engebreth represented the Lions' best and last shot at securing the equalizer, however an excellent defensive save by Maeve Montgomery prevented the score and ultimately allowed Ursinus to hang on for the win.
STANDOUT LIONS
	- Dvorsky's score represented the first collegiate goal of her Lions career.
- Rayhanah Ahmed finished the match with a team-high four shots.
- Making her collegiate start at goalie, Sophomore Brigitte Racey finished with a save.
