Cole leads No. 24 Field Hockey to Blowout of Albright

EWING, N.J. – The No. 24 TCNJ Field Hockey team dominated their way to a 5-0 shutout victory against the Albright Lions on Wednesday afternoon.

The Lions (5-3) outshot Albright (3-5) by a staggering 22-to-6 and held a 10-to-8 penalty corners edge to cap off a massive offensive display.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Lions struck first in the seventh minute of the match when junior Carly Cole found the back of the cage on a brilliant dish from fellow junior Claire Engebreth in transition which eluded multiple Albright defenders.
  • In the second quarter, junior Rayhanah Ahmed tacked on her fourth goal of the season just 41 seconds into the period on a penalty corner when Engebreth set her up with her second assist of the match.
  • Cole notched her second multi-score game of the season two minutes later when she scored on a rebound of an Ahmed shot attempt. Freshman Jadyn Huff set up the offensive score by causing the Albright turnover near midfield.
  • In the third, freshman Karlie Warner notched her first career goal in the 42nd minute on a tap pass from junior Bella DiNardo, pushing the Blue and Gold's lead to 4-0.
  • The final goal of the match came in the 52nd minute in the final frame when Sophomore Emily Dvorsky successfully converted on a penalty stroke after Albright committed a foul well within the shooting circle.
