EWING, N.J.- The TCNJ Wrestling team is just days away from the NWCA National Dual Championships in Cedar Falls, Iowa on Friday, January 5th. Seeded 7th, the Lions have earned themselves a coveted first-round bye, setting the stage for a thrilling matchup against the winner of Wabash College and Aurora University.

The Lions (4-1) strive to build on their impressive 8th place team finish at the NWCA National Duals last season. Their 3-1 record on day one included victories over Mount Union (47-0), RIT (29-9), and No. 7 Wabash (19-15), with their sole day one loss to Johnson & Wales (27-13).

On day two, they fell in two close matches to No. 12 Loras College (16-15)  and No. 5 North Centra (24-18), which earned them 8th.

In the most recent national ranking poll, the Lions were ranked 9th for dual meets and 14th for tournaments. With three nationally ranked wrestlers and an additional seven ranked in the Mideast Region, the Blue and Gold are poised for another standout performance. You can check out the NWCA national rankings article here.

As the team looks forward to their first match on Friday at noon, a potential showdown against No. 2 Wartburg looms if they secure victory against the winner of Wabash and Aurora. Stay tuned this weekend as the Lions attempt to chase down a dual meet national title.
