PITMAN, N.J. – Four TCNJ student athletes were selected as NJAC Athletes of the Week, as announced by the Conference office Monday afternoon.
Freshman
Maya Knasiak was named for her first career Softball Pitcher of the Week honor.
The women's lacrosse duo of senior
Ally Tobler and sophomore
Marissa Lucca took home Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week honors, respectively.
On the courts, freshman
Prisha Priyadarshini was named to her first women's tennis Rookie of the Week award.
SOFTBALL
Knasiak had a dominant week in the circle against conference opponents Rutgers-Camden and Montclair State, as she collected a pair of complete game shutout victories. The freshman struck out 18 batters in 14 innings pitched, and gave up just six hits with no runs allowed. She also held opposing batters to a mere .136 batting average.
WOMEN'S LACROSSE
Tobler had seven goals, three assists, and 11 draw controls in a 1-1 week for the Lions. She paired three goals with three assists and racked up seven draw controls in a 19-4 NJAC rout of Stockton on Tuesday, then came back to fire four goals in Saturday's 10-9 loss to No. 5 Salisbury, which included the game-tying marker with 1:20 remaining in regulation. In the process, Tobler became the seventh player in program history to eclipse 200 career goals.
Lucca had a big week for the Lions, going off for six goals and two assists in Tuesday's 19-4 NJAC rout over Stockton and adding two goals in a 10-9 loss to 5th-ranked Salisbury on Saturday.
WOMEN'S TENNIS
Priyadarshini was a perfect 8-0 across four matches in a busy week for the Lions. She won all eight of her sets at No. 4 singles - including a straight-set victory against D2 Goldey-Beacom and a pair of 6-0, 6-0 double-bagels - and teamed with fellow first-year
Gabriella Robinson to win all four of their matches at No. 3 doubles, none closer than 8-5.
