NEWARK, N.J. – The TCNJ Men's cross country team put in a strong and well-rounded performance at NJIT's Highlander Invitational on Saturday afternoon, finishing second.
As a team, the Lions' top seven runners all finished inside the top-25, and their top five were all the in the top-20. The only team to finish ahead of TCNJ was Army West Point.
Sawyer Stellitano was the Lions' top finisher, as he traversed the 8K-course in 26:38 for 8
th place. Andrew Scalerio (12
th, 26:49) and
Simon Bernhardt (13
th, 26:51) finished one after the other to join Stellitano in the top 15.
Thomas Blach (18
th, 27:23) and
Anthony Thomas (20
th, 27:26) were next across the line to put the Lions' top five runners all inside the top 20. After them,
Jack Segalla (22
nd, 27:36) and
Silas Matteson (25
th, 27:42) rounded out the Lions' top seven runners.
Next, the Lions will head further up north to Waterford, Connecticut to compete at the Connecticut College Invitational on October 18.
