GALLOWAY, N.J. – Behind a third-place finish by
Naesha Gadie and a rookie-leading seventh-place race from
Teagan Walker, the TCNJ women's cross country team finished as NJAC runners-up at the conference championship.
Gadie and Walker's finishes secured 1
st Team All-NJAC honors for themselves. Gadie ran the 6K course in 22:45.7 en route to securing what will be her second career all-conference honor. Walker, a three-time NJAC Rookie of the Week honoree this year, logged a time of 23:20.4, setting herself up for Rookie of the Year honors.
Finishing just three-tenths of a second behind Walker was
Ella Daly (8
th, 23:20.7), and the next Lions runner across the line was
Ava Biemuller (13
th, 23:30.3). Those two finishes confirmed two more All-NJAC awards for the squad.
Savannah Hodgens (15
th, 23:35.9) rounded out TCNJ's top five in the race. After Hodgens, it was
Alex Grivas (18
th, 24:00.6) and
Krista Purnell (19
th, 24:06.7) finishing back-to-back to complete the Lions' top seven.
After having wrapped up their conference season, the Lions will prepare for the NCAA Metro Region Championship on Saturday, November 15.
