Charest, Tobler Headline All-NJAC Six-Pack for Lacrosse

5/1/2025 2:00:00 PM

PITMAN, N.J. – Julia Charest and Ally Tobler earned major awards to headline a six-pack of TCNJ stars on the All-NJAC Women's Lacrosse Team, released Thursday afternoon by the league office.

Charest garnered Goaltender of the Year recognition and Tobler was tabbed Attack Player of the Year for the third season in a row. The fifth-year duo was joined on the All-NJAC first team by sophomore CJ Kole and juniors Veronica Campbell and Meghan Hogan, while junior Marissa Lucca received honorable mention.

Charest and Tobler etched their names deeper into program lore, joining Kathleen Notos '12, Lauren Pigott '14, and Elizabeth Morrison '18 as the only players in TCNJ history to be named All-NJAC four times.

Charest becomes the third keeper in school history to collect multiple Goaltender of the Year nods, alongside Mary Waller (2009-11) and Miranda Chrone (2018-19). Among starting netminders, she led the NJAC in save percentage (.554) and was second in goals-against average (8.54), and turned in the performance of the year with an 18-save effort in the Lions' 15-7 win over Rowan in the regular-season finale. Charest is third in program history in both saves (474) and wins (58).

Tobler joins Jaeger as the only players in TCNJ history to earn three straight Attack Player of the Year awards - and as two of five players in school history to collect three conference player of the year honors - after ranking second in points per game (6.80), third in goals per game (4.00), and fifth in assists per game (2.80) in league play. Now a 4-time All-NJAC 1st Team selection, Tobler reached 100 points for the season in Wednesday's NJAC semifinal win over Stockton, becoming one of just eight players in school history to hit the century mark.

With 297 career goals, Tobler is on the brink of becoming only the 14th player in Division III history to eclipse 300. On Wednesday, she moved into second all-time at TCNJ with 367 career points and counting. Tobler is also sixth all-time in draw controls with 246, and her 112 draws this year are already fourth in a single season.

Campbell makes her all-conference debut on the heels of a breakout season in which she became a full-time starter and a key cog in the Lions' attack and draw operation. Campbell matched Tobler for the NJAC lead with 29 draw controls in conference contests, and her 63 draws for the season rank 6th overall. Campbell scored three goals apiece in NJAC tilts with Kean and Montclair State and produced four goals and nine draws in a win at Ramapo.

Kole is also a first-time all-conference selection after ranking sixth in the NJAC in goals per game (3.40) and ninth in points per game (4.00) in league play, which included four goals against Kean and a five-goal explosion in the victory over Rowan. For the season, the sophomore sits third on the team in goals (46), assists (29), and points (75), and has registered at least five points in eight games.

Hogan has established herself as one of the best defenders in the conference in her second season as a starter. The junior has 21 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers on the year, and two of her games with multiple caused turnovers came in league play – three against Montclair State and a pair versus Rowan. Hogan's strong play in front of Charest helped the Lions concede only 31 goals in five conference games, the fewest in the NJAC.

Despite leading the NJAC with 103 points on the season, Lucca received honorable mention after another prolific regular season that saw her top the league in points per game (7.40) while ranking second in goals per game (4.20) and third in assists per game (3.20). The 2024 NJAC Rookie of the Year logged at least six points in every NJAC game this season, including six goals and two assists at Ramapo, five goals and four assists at Stockton, and six goals and an assist against Rowan.

Lucca's 103 points are ninth-most in a single season in TCNJ history, and the junior star already has 120 goals and 184 points to her name in just her second season with the program.
