GALLOWAY, N.J. – Paced by
Brandon Chen's 2
nd-place finish, the Lions made it three straight team wins to start the year at the Osprey Open on Saturday.
Chen, who ran the 8K course in 25:08.28, was one of two Lions to finish in the top-5.
Matt Granizo also logged an impressive finish of 4
th overall in 25:11.28.
Two more TCNJ runners finished in the top-10 behind Chen and Granizo.
Kevin Matthews finished 7
th in 25:21.19, with
Josh Santiago close behind in 8
th place with a time of 25:23.03.
Finally, three additional Lions finished inside of the top-20 to help TCNJ claim yet another team win.
Evan Melito finished in 13
th (25:41.37), while sophomores
Phil Pace (25:52.36) and
Moksh Patwari (25:59.17) finished 16
th and 17
th respectively.
As a team, the Lions scored 34 points, which was 10 points better than a Moravian squad which won their region and competed at NCAAs a season ago.
The Lions will now prepare for a trip south to Salisbury, Maryland, where they'll compete at the Don Cathcart Invitational on September 27.
