SALISBURY, MD – Ten Lions fought through the elements at the Don Cathcart Invitational on Saturday, as the men's cross country team ran to a 4
th place finish out of eight teams.
The rain and humidity made it difficult for all runners involved in the 8K race. For the Lions,
Nate Kidwell paced the group with a 25
th-place finish in 26:58.90. Finishing after Kidwell were
Will Evarts (27:36.70) and
Jack Segalla (27:37.70), who finished 33
rd and 34
th respectively.
Silas Matteson (36
th, 27:51.10) and
Anthony Thomas (39
th, 28:06.00) rounded out the Lions to finish among the top-40. Also competing through the muddy course were
Andrew Scalercio (42
nd, 28:13.40),
Declan Butler (44
th, 28:36.80), David Keefe (49
th, 29:39,10),
Francisco Lopez (55
th, 30:15.50), and
Shea Mantone (62
nd, 32:54.20).
The Lions as a group battled to a hard-fought 4
th-place finish with 115, placing behind the top three teams of Salisbury (33), Navy (34), and Christopher Newport (69).
The TCNJ men's cross country team now turns their attention to the next competition: the Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, PA, on October 3.
