PITMAN, N.J. – A trio of TCNJ athletes earned NJAC weekly recognition, as released by the conference this afternoon. Women's basketball's
Katie Fricker (Player of the Week), men's swim and dive's
Joe McChesney (Swimmer of the Week) and women's swim and dive's
Hannah Simons (Diver of the Week) all earned top honors in their respective sport in another strong week for the Lions.
Fricker grabbed her maiden Player of the Week nod after averaging 19.5 points, eight rebounds and four assists per game in a pair of dominant NJAC wins. The senior poured in a career-best 24 points in just 27 minutes in the Lions' 33-point victory over Montclair State – the largest margin of victory for either side in series history – to open the week before posting a 15-point, 14-rebound double-double with five assists in a 95-55 win against New Jersey City. Fricker shot an efficient 50 percent (10-of-20) from the field and was a perfect 16-for-16 at the free throw line across both wins.
This past Saturday against Rowan, McChesney posted a B cut time in the 200 fly (1:49.55). The sophomore's time paces the NJAC and is the third best in Division III since December 20th. McChesney also narrowly missed out on another B cut in the 100 fly, missing the marker by just 0.11 seconds.
Simons punched her ticket to NCAA regionals with her performance at Rowan this past weekend, qualifying for the second time on 1-meter. She achieved a score of 255.45 in six dives while also posting a 244.80 in the 3-meter.
