CORTLAND, N.Y. – The No. 4 TCNJ wrestling team capped a successful stint in the Empire State by sweeping a quad match at Cortland on Saturday.
The Lions – fresh off a victory at No. 23 Ithaca the night before – swept aside Oswego (36-9), the host Red Dragons (37-13), and Delaware Valley (47-7) to leave New York state with four dual victories in tow.
TCNJ 36, Oswego 9
The Lions racked up bonus points early and often in their opening dual, beginning with
Joey DeAngelo's 18-1 tech fall at 125 that took all of two minutes and four seconds.
Garrett Totten's 133-pound bout lasted slightly longer but resulted in even more bonus points as the 3
rd-ranked standout pinned Benjamin Burkhardt in 3:17.
Following Friday night's thrilling sudden victory over Ithaca's Isaias Torres,
Vinnie Santaniello dispatched regionally ranked Michael Santore via a 15-7 major decision at 141.
Sam Kotch notched his second pin of the season taking down Donovan Rail 39 seconds into the second period at 149.
Colin Menier scored a 15-6 major decision against Steven Ventricelli at 157 before the Lakers broke up the shutout with a run of three consecutive decisions.

D.J. Henry logged yet another tech fall, this time an 18-1 victory over Kevin Arriaza in 5:50 of match time at 197, and
Matt Coon was awarded a forfeit at heavyweight to close the dual.
TCNJ 37, Cortland 13
Griffin started the Lions off with a bang, pinning Christian Lievano in 4:50 before Totten's 10-1 major decision over regionally ranked Rocco Futia expanded the margin to 10-0.
The Red Dragons took a surprising 13-10 lead with three consecutive bout wins, including a pin and a major decision, but that was as good as it got for the hosts.
TCNJ claimed the remaining five bouts, all with bonus points attached.
Joey Fulco gave the Lions the lead for good with a 12-1 major decision against Justin Klein at 165, and Cortland forfeited to
Hunter Mays at 174.
Luke Theis pinned Luke Chernaski in just over two minutes at 184, and Henry registered another technical fall with a 17-1 demolition of Ethan Gallo in 4:18 at 197.
Coon needed just 29 seconds to pin Chris Ayala at heavyweight.
TCNJ 47, Delaware Valley 7
After the Aggies picked up a decision at 125, TCNJ won by forfeit at 133 and grabbed another six team points when
Anthony Viscido pinned his opponent at 141 pounds.
Kotch followed with an 18-3 tech fall in less than two minutes at 149, and Del Val conceded another forfeit at 157 to run the Lions' advantage to 23-3.
After a DVU major decision at 165, top-ranked Mays finally got to compete and made the most of it, pinning Quincy Risper in only 95 seconds.
DVU forfeited at both 184 (to
Dave Giulian) and 197 (to
Henry Saxon), leaving Coon to finish off the day with his second pin, this one with 18 seconds left in the first period of his heavyweight tussle with Nate Obrzut.
