PITMAN, N.J. - The TCNJ women's basketball team had two student-athletes earn All-NJAC honors, as released by the conference this morning.
Amanda Baylock was named to the First Team while
Katie Fricker garnered Second Team honors, marking the fourth straight season in which the Lions have had multiple All-NJAC honorees.
Â
Baylock stepped into a starting role as a sophomore and put up career numbers across the board en route to her maiden All-Conference nod, most notably upping her scoring average from 5.3 points per game as a freshman to a team-best 14.2 in Year 2. Baylock enters the NJAC Tournament ranked second in the conference and top-25 in the nation in 3-pointers per game (2.6), helping the Lions rank third in all of Division III in the category (10.3 per game) behind only undefeated NYU (10.8) and Aurora (10.4).
Â
The sophomore's season was highlighted by her takeover in TCNJ's comeback win over Rowan in which she finished with a game-high 27 points – including eight straight in the final 58 seconds – to carry the Lions to a pivotal, 61-60 victory over the Profs.
Â
Fricker caps off her TCNJ career with a second straight All-Conference selection, making the jump from Honorable Mention a season ago to Second Team honors following a career-best senior campaign. Fricker has been a Swiss army knife for the Lions all season, ranking among the top three on the team in points (11.8), rebounds (6.9) and assists (2.4) per game – all of which are career-best marks – while pacing TCNJ with 1.6 steals per game.
Â
The senior posted three double-doubles during the regular season and showed her prowess on both sides of the ball during a four-game stretch of conference games in which she averaged 20.3 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.3 steals on .490/.407/.917 shooting splits – Fricker earned her first nod as both the NJAC Player of the Week and a member of the D3hoops.com Team of the Week for her efforts.
Â
TCNJ is back in action Thursday, Feb. 26 to take on Rutgers-Camden in the NJAC Semifinals. Opening tip from Packer Hall is scheduled for 6 p.m.
