Ewing, NJ...Senior Dan Dornacker (Jersey City, NJ/Brick) posted his first 100-yard rushing game of his career as The College of New Jersey picked up a 53-7 triumph over FDU-Florham on Friday at Lions' Stadium.

Dornacker finished with 107 yards on 18 carries with a pair of touchdowns as the Lions amassed 575 yards of total offense with 423 of them coming on the ground. The win also kept TCNJ perfect in the all-time series with the Devils winning all nine meetings between the two schools. The points were also the most the Lions have scored since the 2005 season when they defeated the same FDU-Florham team 42-20.

The Lions took to the ground from the start scoring on a pair of long time-consuming drives in the first quarter. TCNJ's first drive took 12 plays to cover 74 yards before Dornacker found his way into the end zone from six-yards out.

TCNJ cashed in on its next drive as fullback Walter Kumka (Hillsdale, NJ/Pascack Valley) burst up the middle for a 16-yard scoring run. That scoring play capped an 82-yard march that took 11 plays and ate up 5:39 off of the clock.

Each time the Lions were denied the point after as Devil linebacker Rob Felicetta (Brookhaven, NJ/Bellport) blocked both attempts leaving the score at 12-0.

FDU-Florham countered early in the second quarter taking advantage of a Lion turnover. Quarterback Billy Winters (Brick, NJ/Brick) connected with Ray Kwiatkowski (Morganville, NJ/Monsignor Donovan) on the far side and the senior receiver bulled his way into the end zone for a 20-yard scoring play. Michael Barnard (Easthampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley) kicked the point after pulling the Devils to within 12-7.

TCNJ's sophomore quarterback Chris James (Brick, NJ/Brick Memorial) helped the Lions stretch that lead by the half scoring a pair of touchdowns in the final four minutes. The first of those was a seven-yard pass to Austin Misiura (Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel) and then James took care of the second score himself scampering 29 yards on a draw play. Senior Matt Dalessio (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) split the uprights following both scores as TCNJ carried a 26-7 advantage into the half.

The Lions controlled play in the first 30 minutes collecting 297 totals yards, while the Devils mustered 89.

Things continued to go TCNJ's way in the third quarter as the Lions tacked on three more touchdowns. Dornacker posted his second score of the game on a 14-yard run and then Lee Jones (Galloway, NJ/Absegami) took a short pass from James and raced up the near sideline making it 39-7. That play covered 28 yards.

The final score of the period came from Bill Picatagi (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton West) as the sophomore quarterback scored his first touchdown of the season from seven yards.

Two plays into the fourth quarter, the Lions eclipsed the 50-point barrier as Chase Misiura (Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel), whose brother scored earlier the game, avoided a host of Devil tacklers at the line of scrimmage and popped free to the outside and covered 26 yards for the score.

James had a balanced game directing the Lion attack rushing for 78 yards and score on 12 carries, while connecting on 12-of-21 through the air for 144 yards and two touchdowns.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Devils were led by a trio of players with eight tackles. They were Chris Ganley (West Long Branch, NJ/Shore Regional), Jason Stopper (Richmond, VA/North Plainfield) and Tom Capra (Succasunna, NJ/Roxbury) with Capra adding a sack.

For TCNJ, senior Dan Jacoby (Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor) had six tackles with two of them for losses and Nick Steffner (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater) also had six tackles with one being a sack.

TCNJ returns to action next Friday with a road contest at La Salle University on September 21 at 7:30 p.m., while the Devils will travel to William Paterson University for a 1 p.m. non-conference tilt on September 22.
