Ewing, NJ... The College of New Jersey men's basketball team exploded for 96 points as the blew past Berkeley College in their home opener 96-50

The Lions trailed 6-4 early in the first half and never looked back as they went on a 13-0 run to take control of the visiting Bulldogs. Senior Jay Frank (Brick, NJ/Brick) led the way with 20 points while Chistopher Schoenbeck (Franklin Lakes, NJ/Ramapo) chipped in with 14 points. Al Matlock (Trenton, NJ/Solebury) had a strong all-around game as he compiled eight points, eight rebounds, and seven assists.

TCNJ (2-0) shot 58.8 percent from floor in the second half and 50 percent for the game. Schoenbeck was a perfect 7-for-7 from the field and William Jett (Brown Mills, NJ/Pemberton) made four of six shots. The Lions forced 29 Berkeley turnovers. Frank, drained both of his three-point attempts, accounted for five of TCNJ's 19 steals.

Devin Bennett (Paterson, NJ/Manchester) led Berkeley (2-2) with 12 points. Jamal Salaam (Newark, NJ/St. Anthony's) contributed seven points.

TCNJ matches up with DeSales University on Friday, November 20 at 6 p.m. in a four-team tournament held at Albright College. Berkeley is slated to play Albright in the same tournament at 8 p.m. this Friday.
