Lion netters pick up two wins in New York

Allison Tierney was a part of four wins on Saturday.

Geneva, NY… The College of New Jersey women's tennis team came away with a two-match sweep on its trip to New York State on Saturday as the Lions posted 9-0 wins over both William Smith College and St. Lawrence University.

The two wins put 23rd-ranked TCNJ at 10-1 on the season. The matches were the first for the Lions since they returned from their successful spring trip 18 days ago. The team showed no signs of the layoff claiming all 18 points on the day against quality opponents. Following their matches against TCNJ, St. Lawrence is 8-2 and ranked in the top 20 in the Northeast Regional Rankings, while the Herons are 6-2 and ranked 27 in that same region.

The Lions face a tough match on Thursday, April 1 heading to 18th-ranked Johns Hopkins University for a 3:30 p.m. start.
