Newark, NJ...The College of New Jersey women's tennis team opened the 2010 campaign with its 132nd straight New Jersey Athletic Conference win as the Lions posted a 9-0 sweep at Rutgers University – Newark on Wednesday.

The Lions have never lost a conference match since the NJAC began sponsoring the sport back in 1982.

TCNJ received solid performances throughout its entire line-up, including sophomore Karisse Bendijo (Egg Harbor Township, NJ/Egg Harbor Township) at first singles with a 6-0, 6-1 win. She also paired with classmate Allison Tierney (Berkeley Heights, NJ/Governor Livingston) to secure an 8-1 triumph at first doubles.

Freshman Tara Criscuolo (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) added to the win as she picked up her first collegiate victory with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep at third singles. She also teamed up with Emily Petersack (Mercerville, NJ/Notre Dame) at third singles for an 8-0 win.

The Lion will look to add to their streak on Wednesday, September 8 with another road conference match. This time, TCNJ will play at William Paterson University in a 3:30 p.m. start.
