Ewing, NJ...The College of New Jersey women's tennis picked up its eighth victory of the season as the Lions blanked visiting New York University 9-0 on Friday.

The win bumps TCNJ's record to 8-1 on the season.

The Lions got off to a great start sweeping all three doubles matches by the same 8-2 scores. The duo of Karisse Bendijo (Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.) and Allison Tierney (Berkeley Heights, NJ/Governor Livingston) picked up the win in the first position, followed by Paige Aiello (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) and Lauren Balsamo (Wall Twp., NJ/Wall) in the second slot and Emily Petersack (Mercerville, NJ/Notre Dame) and Felice Trinh (Linden, NJ/Linden) at third doubles.

The Lions then won all six positions in singles play. Petersack became the sixth TCNJ player to reach double figures in wins at singles as she picked up her 10th of the year in the fifth spot, while freshman Alissa Migliore (Closter, NJ/Northern Valley Demarest) made the most of her chance in the sixth spot with an 8-2 win improving her record to 3-0.

The Lions are right back on the court tomorrow hosting William Smith College in the Student Recreation Center.
