Swarthmore, PA...The College of New Jersey women's tennis doubled up host Swarthmore College as the Lions netted a 6-3 victory on Sunday.
The win put the Lions at 11-2 on the season as they have collected victories in four of their last five dual meets. The loss snapped Swarthmore's modest three-match winning streak as the Garnet fell to 7-7.
TCNJ picked up wins in the first two doubles spots as the top tandem of
Karisse Bendijo (Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.) and
Allison Tierney (Berkeley Heights, NJ/Governor Livingston) won 8-2 in the first position and
Felice Trinh (Linden, NJ/Linden) and
Emily Petersack (Mercerville, NJ/Notre Dame) won 8-6.
In singles play, the Lions won the first three positions as Bendijo, Trinh, and Tierney won in that order, while
Lauren Balsamo (Wall Twp., NJ/Wall) won at fifth singles.
TCNJ returns home on Saturday to face the Bombers of Ithaca College at 10 a.m.
