TCNJ soars past Bombers, 9-0

Emily Petersack netted two wins on Saturday.
Ewing, NJ...The College of New Jersey women's tennis team netted a solid 9-0 win over visiting Ithaca College on Saturday in the Student Recreation Center.

The win elevated TCNJ's record to 12-2 on the season, while the Bombers dipped to 10-8.

TCNJ picked up wins in the first two doubles spots as the top tandem of Karisse Bendijo (Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.) and Allison Tierney (Berkeley Heights, NJ/Governor Livingston) got the Lions rolling with an 8-2 win at first doubles, while the second team of Lauren Balsamo (Wall Twp., NJ/Wall) and Paige Aiello (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) rolled to an 8-1 victory. The third pairing of Felice Trinh (Linden, NJ/Linden) and Emily Petersack (Mercerville, NJ/Notre Dame) completed the sweep in doubles with an 8-2 triumph in the third position.

Those same six players each garnered a win in singles play for the Lions wrapping up the nine-point victory.

TCNJ is back on the court on Wednesday, April 20 facing Muhlenberg College at 3 p.m.
