Ewing, NJ ...It was a fitting day for a pair of players on The College New Jersey women's team. Seniors Felice Trinh (Linden, NJ/Linden) and Emily Petersack (Mercerville, NJ/Notre Dame) have played alongside and as partners in doubles for the Lions during their careers and on the same day they each gained their 100^th combined win.
 
The pair hit that milestone on Wednesday as the Lions defeated visiting Stevens Institute of Technology 8-1 to move to 10-1 on the season. The loss knocked the Ducks to 12-5.
 
Trinh and Petersack garnered their 99^th win at second doubles as they teamed up for an 8-2 win. They both moved into their singles matches with Petersack cruising 6-1, 6-0 for her 100^th victory. Trinh's match went a little longer, but she reached that milestone in style outlasting her opponent 6-4, 1-6, and 11-9 in the super breaker.
 
The teammates have very similar records as Trinh 37 wins in singles and 63 in doubles, while Petersack has 36 singles victories and 64 in doubles play.
 
The Ducks won at first singles, while the Lions grabbed the other point in doubles as Paige Aiello (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) and Lauren Balsamo (Wall Twp., NJ/Wall) posted an 8-5 win in the third spot.
 
TCNJ then swept all six points in singles to lock up the victory. Aiello, Balsamo, Deborah Wu (Westfield, NJ/Westfield), and Sarah Lippincott (Millville, NJ/Millville) each won their respective matches.
 
The Lions are home again on Saturday, March 24 hosting Swarthmore College at 1 p.m. at the tennis complex.
