Ewing, NJ ...The College of New Jersey women's tennis team notched a pair of home victories on Saturday as the Lions started with an 8-1 win over SUNY New Paltz and capped the day sweeping all nine points from Salisbury University. It also extended the team's winning streak to six straight.
 
The 23^rd-ranked Lions are now 14-1 on the season, while New Paltz dropped to 12-8 and the Sea Gulls to 9-8.
 
A trio of Lions went a perfect 2-0 in singles play as Karisse Bendijo (Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.), Lauren Balsamo (Wall Twp., NJ/Wall), and Sarah Lippincott (Millville, NJ/Millville) each accomplished that feat.
 
Balsamo added to her big day as she teamed up with Paige Aiello (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) to record two more wins in doubles play. The Lion duo of Felice Trinh (Linden, NJ/Linden) and Emily Petersack (Mercerville, NJ/Notre Dame) also were 2-0 in doubles action.
 
Junior Allison Tierney (Berkeley Heights, NJ/Governor Livingston) picked up a win in singles and doubles as she closes in on her 100^th combined win as she increased her total to 96.
 
The Lions are back on the court on April 21 as they host Trinity College at 11 a.m.
