Camden, NJ…A day after officially clinching the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championship, The College of New Jersey women's tennis team tacked on one last conference win as the Lions netted a 9-0 win at Rutgers-Camden on Sunday.
That win put the Lions at 6-0 with each of those wins in NJAC play and pushed their winning streak against conference opponents to 148.
TCNJ's swept all three points in doubles with the teams of
Karisse Bendijo (Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.) and
Paige Aiello (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough),
Deborah Wu (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) and
Jasmine Muniz-Cadorette (Union, NJ/Union, and
Lauren Balsamo (Wall Twp., NJ/Wall) and
Alex Bologno (Point Pleasant, NJ/Point Pleasant Beach) collecting wins. Bendijo and Aiello along with Balsamo and Bologno each boast 8-0 records in doubles this fall.
The Lions coasted through the singles play sweeping all six points with Bendijo, Wu, Aiello, Muniz-Cadorette, Balsamo, and
Tara Criscuolo (Westfield, NJ/Westfield). Balsamo's win kept her undefeated on the season with a record of 9-0 in singles.
TCNJ will compete in the ITA Northeast Regional this weekend with the event being hosted by William Smith College in Geneva, NY.
