Ewing, NJ…The College of New Jersey reeled off three straight goals in the second half to overcome a one-goal deficit and push its winning streak into double digits as the Lions defeated visiting Eastern University 3-1 on Tuesday.

The win was the 10
th straight for eighth-ranked TCNJ as they improved to 10-1 on the season, while the Eagles fell to 5-7.

The Lions dominated the first half, outshooting the Eagles by a margin of 16-0, but was unable to crack Eastern's defense. The Eagles made four defensive saves in the period, with the final one coming from
Hannah Bartholomew (Medford, NJ/Shawnee) as she took away a sure goal by TCNJ's
Erin Healy (Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Manasquan), who had beaten the goalie and had a clear path to the net.

It was the visitors that did get the initial goal scoring 14:56 into the second half when
Megan Bolton (Souderton, PA/Christopher Dock) scored on a penalty stroke.

TCNJ stormed right back when Healy set up teammate
Lindsey Hatch (Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) for a goal on a 2-on-1 break that tied the just two minutes later.

Hatch added the most exciting goal of the game ripping a shot from 12-yards out into the upper corner of the net for her second of the game. That goal came with 21:31 left in the game.

Healy closed out the scoring with an insurance marker with 11:21 remaining on an assist from freshman
Danielle Andreula (New Egypt, NJ/New Egypt).

Hatch and Healy each continued their blistering scoring paces as Hatch has seven goals in the last two games, while Healy has scored in her fifth consecutive game and has nine in that span. The duo is tied for the team lead inn goals with 12 apiece.

In goal for the Lions, junior
Amanda Krause (Richboro, PA/Council Rock North) finished with three saves for her 10
th win.

Jennifer O'Neill (Erial, NJ/Timber Creek) collected five stops.

TCNJ has a huge New Jersey Athletic Conference game on Friday, October 11 at second-ranked Montclair State University. The Lions enter that contest as the lone undefeated team in conference play with a mark of 3-0.
