Ewing, NJ... The College of New Jersey field hockey team will open the 2014 NCAA Division III Tournament at home as the Lions were selected to host second and third round games on November 15 and 16.
 
TCNJ used an exciting 3-2 overtime win over rival Rowan University to capture the New Jersey Athletic Conference title, as well as an automatic bid to the tournament. This is the 31^st time the Lions have earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament and they have captured 10 Division III titles during that time, with the most recent coming in 2011.
 
The tournament opens on Wednesday, November 12 with eight games, with the winners of those contests moving to the predetermined weekend sites. TCNJ will face either SUNY New Paltz (14-6) or Keene State College (19-4) on Saturday, November 15 at 11 a.m. That opening-round game is Wednesday at Keene State
 
Catholic University (15-3) is the other seeded team already slotted to play in Ewing as they take on the either Messiah College (14-6) or Kenyon College (19-2). The Cardinals will then face the winner of that contest on Saturday at 2 p.m.
 
The third-round game between Saturday's winners will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, November 16. The winner of that game will move into the national semifinals in Lexington, VA on Saturday, November 22.
 
Tickets for the games are $5 for adults, $3 for students and seniors. Children under the age of two are admitted free with an adult.
