Ewing, NJ… The College of New Jersey women's tennis team picked up a victory in its first match of the spring season as the Lions posted a 6-3 triumph over visiting Dickinson College on Saturday.

The Lions led 2-1 following doubles play, and clinched the victory by garnering four points once the match switched over to singles.

The win put TCNJ at 7-0 overall, while the Red Devils fell to 0-1 following their first dual meet of the year.

The top pairing of sophomore
Jasmine Muniz-Cadorette (Union, NJ/Union) and freshmen
Katie Buchbinder (Scotch Plains, NJ/Wardlaw-Hartridge) won at first singles for the hosts as the duo outlasted their opponents, 9-7. The other point in doubles came courtesy of an 8-2 win in the third position by junior
Sarah Lippincott (Millville, NJ/Millville) and freshman
Anna Prestera (Barnegat, NJ/Barnegat).

The Lions won the first three spots in singles play with Muniz-Cardorette, Buchbinder, and senior
Tara Criscuolo (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) winning in order. Lippincott picked up the final win in singles with a straight set victory in the fifth slot.

The Lions are back on the court in just over a week as they head to Florida for spring break with three matches. The first of those is on March 9 when they take on Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
