Ewing, NJ… Visiting SUNY Geneseo doubled up The College of New Jersey women's tennis team 6-3 as the Lions concluded the regular season on Saturday.
The loss puts the Lions at 11-6 and they will now wait for the announcement of the 2014 NCAA Division III Tournament field, which will be announced in just over a week. TCNJ earned an automatic bid to the tournament back in the fall by winning the New Jersey Athletic Conference title.
The match was also the final home contest for senior
Tara Criscuolo (Westfield, NJ/Westfield), who was honored in a brief ceremony.
With the win, the Knights moved to 16-4.
TCNJ picked up a win at third doubles as the combination of junior
Sarah Lippincott (Millville, NJ/Millville) and freshman
Anna Prestera (Barnegat, NJ/Barnegat) posted an 8-5 win.
In singles, Prestera picked up a 6-1, 6-3 win in the fifth position, while sophomore
Emma Allen (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) came away with a 6-1, 6-4 triumph in the fourth slot.
