Ewing, NJ… The College of New Jersey women's tennis team kept its record perfect at home on Saturday as the Lions coasted to an 8-1 win over Stevens Institute of Technology.
TCNJ has won all seven home matches over the course of the season and boast an overall record of 9-3. The loss knocked the Ducks to 8-7.
The biggest win of the day for the Lions was in the first doubles match-up as the team of sophomore
Jasmine Muniz-Cadorette (Union, NJ/Union) and classmate
Emma Allen (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) picked up an 8-2 win against Jessica Bourque and Lisa Territore, who were All-Americans at the end of the 2013 season.
TCNJ claimed the other two points in doubles as well with the second team of freshman
Katie Buchbinder (Scotch Plains, NJ/Wardlaw-Hartridge) and senior
Tara Criscuolo (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) earning an 8-4, while the third tandem of junior
Sarah Lippincott (Millville, NJ/Millville) and freshman
Anna Prestera (Barnegat, NJ/Barnegat) cruised 8-0.
In singles, the Lions won the second through six positions to finalize the victory. Getting those wins in order were Buchbinder, Criscuolo, Allen, Prestera, and Lippincott.
TCNJ will go after its 10
th win of the season tomorrow, April 6 hosting Franklin & Marshall College at 11 a.m.
