Ewing, NJ… Franklin & Marshall College brought an end to The College of New Jersey women's tennis team's seven-match home winning streak as the Diplomats pulled out a 5-4 win over the Lions on Sunday.
The loss knocked TCNJ to 9-4 overall, while Franklin & Marshall improved to 8-4.
The Diplomats forged a 3-0 lead following the doubles portion of them match, but the Lions stormed back to garner four points in singles only to come up a point short.
Freshman
Katie Buchbinder (Scotch Plains, NJ/Wardlaw-Hartridge) won 6-1, 6-4 in the second spot and sophomore
Emma Allen (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) picked up a 7-5, 6-3 triumph in the fourth position. Freshman
Anna Prestera (Barnegat, NJ/Barnegat) made it three straight wins at fifth singles with a 7-5, 6-2 decision and junior
Sarah Lippincott (Millville, NJ/Millville) won 6-3, 7-5 in the sixth slot.
The Lions are idle until next weekend when they head to Skidmore College on April 12 and then return home the following day to host Ithaca College.
